Overview
In June 2024, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority submitted a project permit application for building demolition at 7028 York Road, Richmond, British Columbia on federal lands/federal lands and waters managed by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.
As part of the Project and Environmental Review for the proposed project under the Impact Assessment Act, the proposed project was posted on the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry with an opportunity for public comment between April 26 and May 25, 2021. The port authority will conduct formal consultation activities with stakeholders and Indigenous groups.
About the project
The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority – Planning and Development, are proposing to demolish a multi-structure facility located at 7028 York Road, Richmond, which was once a bio energy facility. The structures to be demolished and removed include, but are not limited to:
- Utilities, including, gas, water, sanitary, communication and electrical services
- Buildings and structures including, a two-level office, pre-treatment building, percolation building, mechanical and electrical buildings, digesters and concrete water storage reservoirs
- Any other associated or miscellaneous structures and utilities
