Overview
On February 9, 2023, a project permit was issued to Queensboro Marine Equipment Ltd. (the Applicant), on behalf of the upland owners, to construct a new shared dock at 702 and 706 Alderside Rd, Port Moody, British Columbia. The project is on federal lands and waters managed by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.
The project was approved subject to 40 permit conditions the Applicant must meet to ensure the project does not result in significant adverse environmental effects. Please see the Impact Assessment Act Registry for the Notice of Intent and Notice of Decision.
About the project
The shared dock includes the following features:
- A 85. 3 metre long and 3.05 metre wide walkway supported by 14 steel piles that runs from an existing land-side retaining wall
- A 56.7 square-metre t-shaped dock connected to the walkway by a 12.2 metre by 3.05 metre ramp
- Four, 254 millimetre diameter steel piles will be installed adjacent to the floating dock and will secure the dock allowing the dock to move vertically with the tides.
