About the Project
The Philip Avenue Overpass Project is one of several transportation investment projects that have been identified to help sustainably accommodate and enhance the growth in international trade within the North Shore Trade Area (NSTA). This area is a critical export gateway to overseas markets, and a substantial economic generator of employment in the marine, rail and trucking industries. The overpass will minimize road/rail conflicts and make traffic flow in the area more continuous, and reduce idling time and air emissions. The project will also eliminate the existing Pemberton Avenue at-grade rail crossing, which means that products can be shipped using longer trains, thereby reducing noise from rail car switching and shunting. Project partners include Transport Canada, the Province of British Columbia, the District of North Vancouver, CN Rail, and Kinder Morgan Terminals. Should you have any questions about the project please email philip@dnv.org.
