Overview
In July 2024, Pacific Coast Terminals Co. Ltd. submitted a project permit application to develop Berth 1 foreshore remediation at 2300 Columbia Street, Port Moody, British Columbia on federal lands and waters managed by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.
As part of the Project and Environmental Review for the proposed project under the Impact Assessment Act, the proposed project was posted on the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry with an opportunity for public comment between July 17 and August 15, 2024. The port authority will conduct formal consultation activities with stakeholders and Indigenous groups.
About the project
Pacific Coast Terminals are proposing to remediate approximately 170 metres of shoreline, consisting of:
- Removal of existing debris, rip rap, and select trees, where necessary
- Installation of a cast in place concrete retailing wall along an existing wooden dock base to provide structural stability and prevent erosion
- Placement of rip rap with a 1.5:1 slope beneath the existing dock and along the rest of the shoreline
- Any other miscellaneous activities
